Each JFD dress is made on the premises in the production studio on Pavilion Parade, specifically for each client.

Over the years I have become rather spoilt, so insist on using the finest quality fabrics, all sourced from a selection of the best suppliers in the business. I am a huge fan of silk and as there is a perfect weight and texture of silk for pretty much any design, this is the mainstay of the JFD repertoire, together with gorgeous laces sourced from one of the most prestigious lace producers in France.

Then there are the embellishments......luxurious and tactile ostrich feathers, the unique lustre and form of freshwater pearls, the peerless sparkle of Swarovski crystals, all worked by hand on to the fabric of the dress.

Attention is paid to every detail......even the binding on the tulle petticoats of the tea-length dresses is handcut silk rather than ready-made ribbon.

This sort of quality does come at a premium......but it is possibly more attainable than you think. We only give a rough 'start from' price on the main website, as it is difficult to give exact prices on each design as this will depend to some extent on the final choice of fabric and decoration.

However, I do realise it is absolutely essential to have some more accurate idea of final cost, so that you can budget accordingly.

Should you decide to order a JFD gown, we like to split the cost into 3 equal instalments. The first payment confirms your order, and means that time can be set aside in the studio schedule for work on your dress.

The 2nd installment becomes due after the toile fittings (please see 'YOUR FITTINGS' page for an explanation of this process), and the final third is paid on collection .

For those clients who are ordering at a distance and won't be visiting the studio we ask for a 50% deposit, with the balance (plus shipping costs) payable when your dress is ready to ship.
